Mugshot's lens Bergen Belsen is an excellent example of the hand-built, personal knowledge and experience lenses that make Squidoo such an interesting place!
Pages like this remind us that what may seem 'distant history' is still living and breathing, and still affects individuals among us. Perhaps we can all learn to value our experience of the historic times we live in right now, and bring our own experience of these current events to a Squidoo page.
Personal experience lenses help us to make Squidoo a 'knowledge depository' in a new way, perhaps even better than Wikipedia. It is an 'oral history' in text, with photos, intimate knowledge, and an historical perspective that should not, and need not, be lost with the passing of generations.

Wow :) Mugshot here, I didn't realise I had become the winner in July.
It means so much that my story has had an impact on others and makes them think of their older generation and how the history of their family has shaped the way they live today.
